Before you pick a dispenser brand, find out what POS system you're running. Some POS vendors have stronger certified integrations with one brand over the other. A mismatch creates integration headaches at startup and limits some features (loyalty programs, grade selection overrides, car wash integration).

EMV Compliance (Important)
Both Gilbarco and Wayne current-generation dispensers are fully EMV (chip card) compliant. If you're buying new dispensers today, EMV is standard on both. If you're evaluating used or refurbished units from 2018 or earlier, verify EMV compliance status carefully — pre-EMV units are a liability exposure and increasingly rejected by card networks.
Texas-specific note: As of October 2020, fuel station operators who don't have EMV-compliant dispensers are liable for fraudulent card transactions at the pump. New installs should always spec EMV-compliant units. We won't install non-compliant hardware.
